I've been doing some job searching recently, difficult thing to do without a completed education right now. Because I'm ever so creative, I've been brainstorming ways to get my name out there the good old fashioned way, a basic business card. Then I stumbled on this site and spent disgusting amount of time fartin' around: Vistaprint.com.
They hook you with the "freebies," but it's actually pretty cool. You can customize and design every thing from T-shirts and bumper stickers to "personal" business cards and keychains. I love it! How cool would it be to hand a potential employer a bumper sticker with my face on it?
For all of the Parent Online Shoppers, specifically Amazon.com:
In my attempt to distract myself from completing anything, I did discover a hidden treat at Amazon.com. It's called AmazonMom. It's a way to get Amazon's "Prime" service benefits (basically free 2-day shipping,) for FREE! AmazonPrime normally costs $80 a year, so what a steal of a deal! They also have discounts on some baby products like diapers and wipes. Oh yeah, and you don't have to be a mom, you can be a dad or grandparent, you only need to be a caregiver of a child!
If you're a window browser, they advertise some of the latest and innovative baby/toddler gear out there. All with no pressure to buy!
Loving and Hating the eBook phenomenon
One more site worthy enough for me to send you to, if your interested that is... FREE children's ebooks at: wegivebooks.org. And they are good ones like the Llama Llama series, Tinga Tinga,Corduroy, and Max & Ruby. This site ROCKS, while you read, books get sent to charity campaigns placing books into the hands of those who need them. You can even pick a particular campaign if you prefer. You have to register to "complete" the book and get credit for it. But that just takes a second, and if your child is old enough to navigate a mouse, they can explore the book for themselves!
